"Water is the softest thing yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This truly shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness”.

~ Lao Tze

This will be a weekend diving into the ancient lineages of Tea in support of cultivation and that of the 3,000 year old Water Tradition of Taoism.  You will learn exercises for cultivating your life force energy and developing overall health & vitality.

Whole body awareness and employing the characteristics of water - using full effort without force we will learn to feel, let in & let go, working with the natural downward current of energy.

During this 12 hour weekend workshop you will receive live, hands-on instruction and adjustment with a focus on:

Basic standing posture, sinking/dissolving energy, Taoist breathing & awareness will place you into a deep & natural overall alignment while you open physically and energetically you'll become more deeply aware of your internal landscape.

Learn how to scan and sink and dissolve energetic blockages taking you beyond visualization using total relaxation. This is a Yin approach where you use a relaxed awareness to hang out and travel through  your inner landscape.

From above your head to below your feet from the outer edge of your energy field deep inside your body - you allow yourself to feel.  Feel what's there & follow it. A gentle awareness of what's not flowing - like ice melting to water and water to mist you allow it to release and guide this blocked energy to complete resolution travelling along its natural course - downward & outward.

Some benefits of harnessing this downward flow:

- Your energy system & nervous system develop strength in their bandwidth - able to handle more energy and upward flows more safely.

- Loosens muscles & strengthens organs - especially the Kidneys.

- Improves cardio-pulmonary system

- Prevents joint, ligament & bone injury

- Increases overall awareness, health & balance - body, energy, heart & mind, helping you to live and feel a more full & vital life in a functionally younger body.

The solid foundation of standing alignments & awareness training you learn will be directly applied to the remainder of this series.

Through a movement called Cloud Hands you will benefit from gentle bending, stretching, twisting and lengthening of all your bodies soft tissues while your internal organs receive internal pressurization causing them to function optimally. Cloud hands is known as “the most complete chi gung movement” and can give you the majority of the benefits found in Tai Chi.

The next movement called the first swing works on your lower internal organs - especially kidneys & urogenital region. The gentle stretching or the soft tissues continues with total letting go of your arms while you remain engaged and integrated in your movement. This movement is incredible for shedding stress all over but especially softening tension in the neck & shoulders and really gives your kidneys a boost.

The Taoist spine stretch is unique in that it allows access to working to exercise the spine in a safe & effective manner.   The muscles that run along the spine and the posterior and anterior sides of the vertebrae benefit from space created through this release.  It's common to come out of this movement feeling slightly taller!

Tea (Camellia Sinensis) has gone hand in hand with monks in Asia for millennia.  I've found it tends to "prime the pump" for any sort of occasion and especially Qigong.

Tea works to naturally open & balance your acupuncture energy lines, ground your energy and align you into a relaxed & sometimes profound state of presence.

During this workshop we will dance between Qigong and sitting with rare, wild, old tree & aged Puerh Tea.  Simply sitting & being in this way gives your body, energy and mind a change to integrate the material we are covering in Qigong.

This will be a relaxed weekend where we will learn some of the most amazing self healing tools out there that create a foundation for a personal practice you can take home with you.  We will have a 2 hr lunch break each day and time in the evening to do your own thing and integrate.

Pre-registration required - $250-200 (sliding scale) / person (7 spaces available)
